The nights are cold. I can feel it deep within my bones. The city is a desert of toxic snow. Black smoke is rising towards the grey skies. No sane creature lives here. Only men.
The mines are deep below the ground. The humming of the engines never stops. It's so hot it almost burns. Inside dark elevators we are slowly going down.

Winter is finally over. It is getting warmer every day. Ice is slowly melted away by the first rays of the spring sun. Hope is slowly moving back to our hearts.
You can hardly see snow any more if you look around. It is all wet and muddy. Raining all the time. It is so hot.
The mine has been flooded. Everyone is leaving. Only those remain who are working on the river bank day and night. The rising of the water doesn't seem to stop. I don't know for how long we can last.
And the levee breaks.
